Michael Kim was one of six amateur and professional athletes named as the San Diego Hall of Champion’s Stars of the Month for June.
Kim, a Cal student, earned golf’s No. 1 ranking for college athletes and played in the U.S. Open last month in Pennsylvania, where he finished tied for 17th, beating Tiger Woods.
Kim, 19, was joined by San Diego Padres right-fielder Kyle Blanks, ex-San Diego State and San Antonio Spurs player Kawhi Leonard, former SDSU track star Whitney Ashley and amateur athletes Mac Fleet and Bran Carroll in the local honors.
