Woman Struck By Truck In Carmel Valley, Suffers Brain Bleed
A woman was hospitalized in critical condition with a brain bleed she suffered when she was struck by a pickup truck in Carmel Valley.
SAN DIEGO — A 72-year-old woman was hospitalized in critical condition Thursday evening with a brain bleed she suffered when she was struck by a pickup truck in the Carmel Valley area of San Diego.
A preliminary investigation determined a 17-year-old boy driving a Honda Ridgeline was westbound on Edgewood Bend Court about 3:05 p.m. when his vehicle struck the woman who was in the crosswalk at Carmel Valley Road, according to Officer John Buttle of the San Diego Police Department.
The woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition with a brain bleed, Buttle said.

The driver was evaluated and found not to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs and was not arrested.
The name of the victim was not disclosed.
