1 Killed, 3 Injured In Multi-Car Crash On Pomona Freeway

BREAKING: The morning accident involved three vehicles in the Hacienda Heights area. CHP is seeking witnesses or anyone with info.

HACIENDA HEIGHTS, CA – A 21-year-old man was killed and three other people were injured in a three-vehicle crash Saturday on the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway in Hacienda Heights.

The crash was reported at 3:08 a.m. at Seventh Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A 21-year-old man driving a 2004 Honda Civic had been involved in a crash with a Toyota Prius, when he got of his car in the HOV lane and was struck by a 1990 Honda. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 1990 Honda then struck a 2015 Dodge Challenger, whose motorist, a 23- year-old man from Ontario, suffered moderate injuries. His passenger, a 26- year-old woman also from Ontario, suffered major injuries. Another passenger in the Challenger, a 17-year-old boy from Joshua Tree, suffered moderate injuries.

Paramedics rushed the injured to Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center.

The motorist in the 1990 Honda, an 18-year-old man from Joshua Tree, was not injured. He was not arrested and it was not immediately known if he was cited.

The CHP's Santa Fe Springs office asked anyone with information regarding the crash to call them at (562) 868-0503.
