8 Caught In Los Angeles County Prostitution Sting

The operation happened at the infamous "Holt Corridor," which is often frequented by sex trafficking activity.

POMONA, CA -- Four men and four women were in custody Saturday following a prostitution sting in Pomona. The Pomona Police Department, with the assistance of the Claremont Police Department, set up the Friday night VICE operation in Pomona's infamous "Holt Corridor," which is often frequented by sex trafficking activity.

The operation used plainclothes officers which resulted in two arrests for prostitution, and six arrests for loitering with intent to commit prostitution, according to Pomona police Officer Jesse Hedrick.
January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month, Hedrick said.

"This operation was designed to impact the crime of human trafficking by targeting the supply, demand, or organizational structure of entities involved in the trafficking of human beings," Hedrick said. "In doing so, we hope to identify and rescue commercially sexually exploited victims of human trafficking throughout the state of California. In addition, the goal is also to obtain information from the victims that can be utilized to identify and apprehend other suspects responsible for their exploitation and trafficking."
