African American Male Jamboree Seeks To Inspire PUSD Students, Parents
PABSE and the Pomona Unified School District are hosting the seventh annual African American Male Jamboree on Feb. 7.
The Pomona Alliance of Black School Educators (PABSE) and the Pomona Unified School District are hosting the seventh annual African American Male Jamboree, which aims to provide students in grades seven through 12 information on careers and offer students and their parents the resources and support to reach success.
This year’s theme is “The Art of Knowing: Opportunities Behind the Scenes (Art, Music, Athletic and Business Industries).”

Held during Black History Month, the Jamboree is an inspirational event for African American male students within Pomona Unified to pursue higher education and career goals. Attendees will receive encouragement from current and former PUSD educators, alumni and board members, as well as African American male professionals throughout Southern California. Breakout sessions include film and media, sports, spirituality, history, society and entrepreneurship. Parent breakout sessions center on the National College Resource Foundation and family health and nutrition. Local businesses, organizations and colleges will also be present. Neighboring middle school and high male students and their parents are also invited to attend.
