DIAMOND BAR, CA — Diamond Bar homeowners struggling to afford essential home repairs may qualify for zero-interest loans through a city program offering deferred payments of up to $35,000, the city said.
The city's Home Improvement Loan program provides loans ranging from $5,000 to $35,000 for single-family homes and $5,000 to $20,000 for condominiums, according to city officials.
Eligible improvements include plumbing and electrical repairs, roofing, pest control, window and door replacements, exterior repairs and accessibility modifications.
The loans carry no interest and require no monthly payments. Repayment is deferred until the property is sold, transferred or refinanced, the city said.
Funding for the program is limited, and applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Homeowners interested in learning more about eligibility requirements and the application process can contact the city's Community Development Department at 909-839-7030.
