Host Families Needed for Exchange Students

iE-USA is looking for open-minded, loving families throughout California to host international exchange students during the upcoming school year (August 2011-June 2012). This is a wonderful and rewarding opportunity for families of all household types.

iE-USA was founded in 2002 as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization. We are devoted to the growth of friendship and understanding among the people of the world and believe that learning about other cultures, languages, and customs is the best way to eliminate international fears and prejudices. Specifically, we observe that host families who share their homes and their lives with an international student become interested in his or her country.They grow more tolerant and understanding of different customs and values. Many visit their student's country out of affection and increased curiosity sparked by their hosting experience. Students who participate in a home-stay program become personally involved with their host families and often come to love their host country. Talking daily with their families helps increase their proficiency in English. Even within a short period of time, they greatly expand their worldviews.

iE-USA is a J-1 visa sponsor designated by the United States Department of State (DOS) authorized to issue DS-2019 forms to students enrolled in the program. In addition, iE-USA holds a “Full Listing” with the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel(CSIET) since the 2006/2007 cycle and is present in their yearly Advisory List.
