On Friday, November 9, at 7 p.m., the movie The Mark of Zorro will be shown at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Pomona. It is jointly hosted by the Pomona Host Lions Club and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Admission is free, but popcorn, candy and sodas will be available for purchase.
The movie showing is the newest addition to Pomona’s “Together We Read” celebration. The Mark of Zorro is the 1940’s version, which is widely acclaimed for its high action and intrigue. The Mark of Zorro is also rich in early California history. The movie stars Tyrone Powers, Linda Darnell and Basil Rathbone.
The focus of the City of Pomona’s “Together We Read” is the historical novel Zorro by Isabel Allende. Students and adults alike are reading the book and taking part in activities relating to it throughout the community.
