Santa Helps Pomona Host Lions Collect Toys, Food, Books

Santa Claus helped the Pomona Host Lions Collect Toys, Food and Books at the Pomona Concert Band Holiday Performance on Saturday, December 15, 2012.  Many attendees brought toys for the Pomona SantaCop program, which gives toys to needy children for Christmas.  The Lions also collected food for the Pomona Hope Partners Food Pantry and books for the club’s literacy project at Madison Elementary School.  The collection of approximately 40 toys will be taken to the Pomona Police Department, whose officers will give them to local children.

Santa gave candy canes to all who donated and to all children in attendance and then mingled with the crowd during intermission and after the concert.

The Pomona Host Lions also sponsor one band concert in July and hold food and eyeglasses collections at all summer concerts.  For information about the Pomona Host Lions, email the club at pomonahostlions@gmail.com or go to www.pomonahostlions.org.
