Basically Books is a nonprofit, used bookstore owned by the Friends of the Diamond Bar Library (FODBL), an all-volunteer run organization. All proceeds support the Diamond Bar Library by way of programs, events, and special materials and equipment.

Duties include:

-Accept donations, write customers a tax receipt upon request
-Answer phone calls and assist walk in customers
-Record sales transactions and receive payment (cash, credit card, check)
-Staff front desk, stock shelves
-Tidy up store when needed (Light cleaning, rearrange books, etc)

We have two bookstore locations. One is a free standing store on Golden Springs Drive, and the other is inside the Diamond Bar Library. Depending on the day, the hours for the Golden Springs store vary between 10 AM to 7 PM Monday through Saturday, and hours for the Library store vary between 10 AM to 5 PM Monday through Saturday. Shifts run from 3 to 4 hours, and we request that volunteers opt for weekly or biweekly shifts.

This is a great opportunity to meet new people, and is perfect for college students, recent grads, senior citizens, part-time employees, stay at home parents, and freelancers. And, rewarding for anyone who loves reading and books!
