Transient Found Shot To Death Near Diamond Bar Identified: Coroner

The body of a homeless man that was found shot to death in an Azusa riverbed was identified Thursday.

DIAMOND BAR, CA — A body of a man found shot to death in an Azusa riverbed was identified Thursday.

The 47-year-old homeless man, Alexander Morales, was found dead about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday near the aqueduct at Sierra Madre and Todd avenues, according to the sheriff's department and the coroner's office.

"The victim appeared to have been there for a couple of days," sheriff's Deputy Kimberly Alexander said.

Sheriff's homicide detectives were assisting Azusa police in the investigation.
