New Executive Director Named at Morningside of Fullerton

Gary Stork is appointed executive director for Morningside of Fullerton, the continuing care retirement community in Fullerton.

Gary Stork, an 18-year veteran of the long-term care administrative field, has been named executive director for Morningside, the continuing care retirement community in Fullerton, Calif.

As executive director of Morningside, Stork serves as head of staff and has complete oversight of the community, including the planning, performance and review of all departments and activities. He also oversees the financial management of Morningside to sustain the community’s long-term economic health and viability. 

According to E. Justin Wilson, III, executive vice president of CoreCare III, the onsite Morningside partner, Stork was selected based on his extensive experience and track record of success in the industry.

“The executive director position is central to the successful operation of a continuing care retirement community, especially for Morningside with its emphasis on our Continuing Life® philosophy of an active, healthy lifestyle for residents,” Wilson said. “Gary is a career professional in this field with great integrity and commitment to the residents he serves. His strong administrative and interpersonal skills will be critical in managing a large, diverse staff and executing our continuing goal of providing first-rate services, amenities and activities. We are excited to have Gary move into the role of executive director and know he will be a tremendous asset and resource for our residents.”

No stranger to Morningside, Stork was previously the administrator for ParkVista, the on-site health center for Morningside featuring 54 assisted living units and a 99-bed skilled nursing facility with a special care unit. While at ParkVista, Stork was named Administrator of the Year by the Southern California Association of Activity Professionals (SCAAP). SCAAP represents more than 170 activity professionals in the Southern California area who work exclusively in geriatric settings, including long-term care facilities, retirement living communities, assisted living facilities, adult day care services and senior citizen centers.

Stork was also the administrator of Nohl Ranch Inn in Anaheim Hills, Calif., an assisted living facility, and served as executive director for a continuing care retirement community in San Diego County.  

A licensed nursing home administrator, Stork is also a licensed preceptor for administrators-in-training and a licensed Retirement Community for the Elderly (RCFE) administrator. In addition, he served as chair of the California Association of Homes & Services for the Aging/South Coast Region. Stork graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in communications from California State University, Fullerton. He is a resident of Orange, Calif.
