Tesla Motors and National University to Add to Diversity of Tenants at Brea Mall
Simon Property Group’s (NYSE: SPG) Brea Mall is excited to announce today that in addition to the recently opened Lorna Jane fashion forward activewear store and The Art of Shaving, two additional tenants will open their doors this summer. A Tesla Motors store is expected to open early this month, with National University to follow this summer, rounding up the newest additions to Brea Mall.
“These tenants add to an already diverse mix of retailers we offer to folks here at Brea Mall,” said Anna Cotter, director of marketing and business development at Brea Mall. “Our goal is to provide meaningful experiences to shoppers that address all of their needs, from lifestyle to education and beyond.”
California-based Tesla Motors, maker of the award-winning all-electric Model S sedan, plans to open its 3,300-square foot retail space at Brea Mall in early June, and will be located on the mall’s lower level near Simon Guest Services.
The Tesla store invites visitors to learn about electric driving with enticing visuals, interactive displays, and a design studio where customers can create their own Tesla. In addition, the Model S will also be available for visitors to test drive. Experience the thrilling driving experience of Motor Trend’s 2013 Car of the Year. Branded accessories will also be available for purchase.
National University is also slated to open this summer in a 1,200-square foot space on the mall’s upper level near Macy’s. As the second largest private, nonprofit institution of higher education in California, and the 12th largest in the United States, National University will use the space to build university awareness about its educational offerings, ranging from certificate to credential programs, and undergraduate to graduate degrees.
No classrooms or classes will be held in the space, but the location will be used for guidance counselor and enrollment meetings for prospective online students.
In addition to these new tenants, The Body Shop has relocated to the mall’s lower level near the Nordstrom wing, while Tokyo Japanese Lifestyle, a destination for Hello Kitty and other Sanrio items, home items, beauty, candy and more, has been relocated to the upper level near Macy’s Men.
