Brush Fire Blackens Southbound Orange Freeway
Diamond Bar and Orange Freeway saw closures due to a freeway brush fire on Tuesday.

DIAMOND BAR, CA — A brush fire on the Southbound Orange Freeway ate up about 13 acres Tuesday in the Diamond Bar area, but no one was hurt, officials said. Two southbound freeway lanes were blocked to accommodate the firefighters working the blaze.
Firefighters were sent to the Tonner Canyon area, near Diamond Bar Boulevard, at just before 7:15 a.m. Tuesday.
Responders gained the upper hand on the flames in about an hour, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The brush fire was contained by about 9 a.m., though some crews remained on scene dousing hot spots.
Firefighters from the Orange County Fire Authority assisted in dousing the freeway brush fire and mopping up the perimeter, Capt. Larry Kurtz said.
