Brush Fire Burns Offramp 57 Freeway, Monday
Amid growing winds, a brush fire sparked along the southbound 57 Freeway near Diamond Bar, Monday.

DIAMOND BAR, CA — A brush fire was reported off the southbound 57 freeway at Brea Canyon Road, at just before 11:45 a.m. Monday, according to Los Angeles County Fire officials. According to a report from California Highway Patrol.
"Northbound Brea Canyon was closed for approximately 30 to 45 minutes," a California Highway Patrol spokesperson said.
As of 12:30 p.m. northbound Tonner Road was also closed. One LA County Fire engine battled the blaze, and the brush fire burned approximately one acre of light grass. No structures were threatened, according to Los Angeles County Fire.

The fire was reported as extinguished just prior to 12 p.m., however firefighters remained doing mop-up work. There was no report as to the cause of the brushfire as of this report.
