Brush Fire Shuts Down Part Of 57 Freeway In Diamond Bar

Two southbound freeway lanes were blocked to accommodate the firefighting effort.

DIAMOND BAR, CA -- A brush fire scorched about 13 acres Tuesday near the southbound Orange (57) Freeway in the Diamond Bar area, but no one was hurt.

Firefighters sent to the area of Diamond Bar Boulevard at 7:11 a.m. gained the upper hand on the flames in about an hour, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The fire was contained by about 9 a.m., and some crews remained on scene dousing hot spots. Firefighters from the Orange County Fire Authority also were sent.
