Crash Severs Gas Line, Evacuations Ordered In Diamond Bar

A vehicle crash severed a home's gas line forcing an evacuation of the residence over the weekend, authorities said.

DIAMOND BAR, CA — A car that crashed into a house severed a gas line Sunday forced the temporary evacuation of about 30 people from their homes in Diamond Bar while the gas was being shut off, authorities said.

The crash occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. in the 21300 block of Cottonwood Lane, according to the sheriff's department.

The driver of the car accidentally hit the car's accelerator instead of the brake causing the crash into the home, ABC7 reported.

A gas company repair crew responded to the scene and shut down the gas. People then were allowed back into their residences while the repair crew worked on the line.
