The city of Diamond Bar is making the completed Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) to the 2008-2014 housing element of the General Plan available for public viewing and comment.
The public may view the environment findings of the report and submit written comments regarding them for a 45-day review period, according to the city of Diamond Bar's website.
Comments must be received by 5:30 p.m. July 8 in order to be considered, according to a news release. Hard copies are available for review on the second floor of the Diamond Bar City Hall, 21810 Copley Drive and the Diamond Bar Community Library on the first floor of City Hall during normal business hours.
The housing element, which is mandated by state law, sets guidelines for a city's future development. Diamond Bar must detail its policies and programs "to maintain and improve existing housing, and accommodate new housing development needed to meet the City's fair share of the state's population growth," according to the city.
The housing element designates which sites would be used for multi-family housing in the future, but Diamond Bar's plan is not tied to any proposed rezoning efforts at this time, officials said.
