Diamond Bar Unemployment Rate Remains Steady at 5.9%
The 5.9 percent rate was well below the 8 percent rate from December 2014.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Los Angeles County held steady at 5.9 between November and December, the state Employment Development Department reported Friday.

In Orange County, where seasonally adjusted numbers were not available, the unemployment rate was 4.1 percent, down slightly from 4.2 percent in November.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for California was 5.8 percent in December, up from 5.7 percent in November and below the 7.1 percent rate in December 2014. The comparable estimates for the nation were 5 percent in December, 5 percent in November and 5.6 percent a year ago.
According to the EDD, total nonfarm employment increased in Los Angeles County by 26,300 jobs between November and December to reach more than 4.4 million. The trade, transportation and utilities sector led the way, adding 10,100 jobs.

About 295,000 people were unemployed in December in Los Angeles County, which has a workforce of about 5 million.
