Food Fermentation and Preservation Workshop

Long before refrigerators and freezers, people used fermentation to prevent foods from rotting. Fermented foods are full of nutrients and bacteria which are absolutely necessary for our health. In this workshop, we will go over 4 different types of fermented foods. First, our very own Pearl Kumar will guide attendees throug the art of making Indian *achaar* (pickled vegetables). Then Rishi will take students through the process of making his favorite fermented food: Kombucha (fermented tea.  Finally, we will have Mrs. Joe teaching us how to make Kim-Chi (Korean pickled vegetables) The Growing Home fermented foods will also be available for purchase at the end of the workshop.

This is the first workshop in our ongoing Summer Workshop Series.  To REGISTER please visit our website at http://thegrowinghome.net/?page_id=286 or call us at (909) 660 3514.
