Natural Building Workshop

Not to long ago, man made structures from locally available materials.  Today’s construction method’s are much different, bringing materials in from around the world to build even the simplest structures.  In this workshop, we will be working with cob, a material made of clay, sand, straw, earth and water to build a firepit at The Growing Home.  Attendees will learn how to mix the material and then actually build a structure from it.  We will also be learning the advantages and disadvantages of a cob structure.
