Waste Management of Southern California and L.A. LIVE to host free electronics recycling event in honor of Earth Day

wHAT: Waste Management of Southern California and L.A LIVE will be hosting a free electronic waste collection drive as part of L.A. LIVE Earth Month, a month-long celebration of Earth Day. The event will provide the public with the opportunity to easily dispose of acceptable electronic items in an environmentally safe manner.


 


WHO: This free event is open to the public.

WHEN: Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

WHERE: Curbside of Nokia Plaza L.A. LIVE with entrance on Chick Hearn Court from Figueroa and 11th.


 


WHY: By properly disposing of electronic items, individuals can help protect the environment by keeping those items out of the waste stream.


 


HOW: Residents and businesses can bring any of the approved items to the drop off location.


 


Acceptable items:


• Computers – CPU and laptop, computer monitors


• Computer peripherals – printers, keyboards, mice


• Fax machines


• Photocopiers


• Televisions


• VCRs/Stereos


• Home and office phones


• Cell phones


• Consumer electronics


• Microwaves


 


Please do not bring:


•Light bulbs


• Batteries


• Smoke alarms/detectors or fire alarms/detectors


• Thermometers, dehumidifiers


• Any unit with sludge or liquids


• Large and small appliances – refrigerators, etc.
