Heat Continues, Thunderstorms On Way
The National Weather Service is forecasting a 20 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms to hit the region by Friday.

The National Weather Service has extended its excessive heat warning for the Inland Empire region through Friday, when it is predicting thunderstorms.
Forecasts show a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms for Diamond Bar and the surrounding areas by Friday.
The areas most in danger, however, are the mountain regions. Forecasters are predicting a better than 50 percent chance of dry lightning strikes in the San Bernardino, San Gabriel and the high desert areas of San Bernardino County on Thursday. The forecast has prompted the weather service to issue a fire weather watch alert for the areas.

Until Friday, the heat is expected to remain on the region, with a forecasted high of 93 for the region, with temperatures into the 100s further inland, and in selected valley spots.
After the thunderstorms roll through the region, the forecast calls for a slight cooldown. However, temperatures are supposed to remain above seasonal norms, with a predicted high of 89 degrees on Saturday.
