Holiday Half Marathon, 5K and Kids Fun Run this Weekend
The 5th Annual Holiday Half Marathon and related races will be held this weekend, Dec. 14 ad 15 at Fairplex in Pomona. On Sun., Dec. 15 the half marathon race will begin at 8 a.m.
Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center will be serving as the Official Hospital sponsor for the fifth year. More than 25 physicians, nurses, physical therapists and other hospital staff will be staffing two Medical Aid Stations on the course as well as the Medical Aid Tent at the Finish Line in support of the approximately 8,000 event participants. Additionally, over 60 volunteers from the hospital will be staffing Water Stations on the half marathon course. the medical personnel will be available to help participants with cramps, blisters, sprains and other issues that might arise on the course.
In addition to Pomona Valley Hospital serving as the official Hospital Sponsor other official 2013 Holiday Half Marathon sponsors include: Host Venue - Fairplex; Festival Sponsor - Kool 'N Fit-; Results Sponsor – YP; Costume Contest Sponsor; - Dick's Sporting Goods; Race Warm Up Sponsor – Keurig; Official Energy Bar and Gel - Clif Bar; and Community Partner - Michelob Ultra.
The Kids Fun Run is already sold out. The Holiday 5K is close to being a sell out with limited registration still available. If space is available, you can register onsite at the Kool ‘N Fit Festival at Fairplex on Saturday.
