Inmate Escapes Chino Prison; Public Warned To Keep Away From Him
BREAKING: Michael Garrett was in custody for grand theft auto and felony evading, police said.

CHINO, CA — An inmate escaped the California Institution for Men in Chino and the public should stay away from him, police said.
The prison confirmed that Michael Garrett, 33, escaped the facility, police said in a Facebook post. Details of the escape weren't immediately available.

Chino police confirmed the escapee is no longer near the prison and said they're following all leads to apprehend Garrett.
Garrett is described as a white man who stands 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs just under 200 pounds.

Those who see Garrett should call 911 but not approach him. If you see or hear anything suspicious related to this incident, call 911 immediately.
