Nogales couldnt get anything going, in 21-7 loss to Azusa: Walnut, Diamond Bar lose big and Diamond Ranch Made decent Showing vs Los Altos

LA PUENTE- Gabriel Whitworth runs for two touchdowns as the Azusa Aztecs handed the Nogales Nobles its first defeat of the season, running away with a 21-7 decision Friday night in a Montview League opener for both teams
Chris Maldonado ran for 94 yards on 28 carries and Angel Perales added another rushing touchdown for the Aztecs who evens its season record to 3-3 (1-0 Montview league).
It was Nogales, who drew first blood. Andrew Carrasco ran back an Azusa punt 85 yards to take a quick 7-0 lead. It will be all the points the Nobles will score as Nogales couldn’t get anything going offensively, losing a fumble on a drive which could have tied the game at 14-14. Nogales then muffed a punt return which Azusa recovered and later scored on a Whitworth 1-yard keeper to put the game away at 21-7.

Frustrations begin to show on the Nobles’ sidelines. Head coach Richard Salazar was called for unsportsmanlike conduct for taunting when he was shouting some smack towards an azusa player during a punt return
Azusa responded to Carrasco’s Punt return with a scoring drive of its own, culminating on a 4-yard run by Perales.
