Local Students Earn Spots on Fairplex Board

Several area students were named to the Junior Fair Board. Congratulations are in order.

Two students from Diamond Bar high schools have been named junior members of the governing Los Angeles County Fair Association.

Sylvia Guan, of Diamond Bar High School, and Jessica Schaller of Diamond Ranch, were named to the The Junior Fair Board through The Learning Centers at Fairplex, which offers high school students an opportunity to be involved in the happenings at Fairplex.

Students are selected through a competitive application process, officials said. Through hands-on community projects, students develop their leadership skills, career exploration and community involvement, officials said.
