Madison Elementary, WesternU to Host Free Community Health Clinic

The Pomona Community Health Action Team (PCHAT) will hold a free flu immunization and health clinic at Madison Elementary in Pomona Oct. 17.

WHAT: The Pomona Community Health Action Team (PCHAT) – a partnership between Western University of Health Sciences, Associated Pomona Teachers and Pomona Unified Health Services – will hold a free flu immunization and health clinic at Madison Elementary in an effort to provide accessible health care while serving Pomona’s community needs.

WHERE: Madison Elementary School, 351 W. Phillips Blvd., Pomona, CA 91766

DETAILS: PCHAT is a cooperative project involving the Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU), the Pomona Unified School District and the Associated Pomona Teachers Association that organizes free health fairs throughout the community. Area residents will have the opportunity to consult with health care providers and receive basic medical checkups, screenings and immunizations at no cost. Free services include full medical exams, blood pressure and Body Mass Index (BMI) calculations, as well as free flu vaccines and tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (Tdap) vaccines.

WesternU students from the school’s doctor of osteopathic medicine, physician assistant, physical therapy and health professions education programs conduct the health screenings under the supervision of licensed physicians and other health care professionals. Students from the PUSD’s Adult Education program for nursing assistants also participate.
