Maple Hill Elementary Honored as PLTW Distinguished School

DIAMOND BAR, CA—Maple Hill Elementary has been recognized as a 2019-2020 PLTW Distinguished School for providing broad access to transformative learning opportunities through PLTW Launch.

“The Maple Hill team takes great strides in providing our students with a rich STEAM program that promotes critical thinking, hands-on learning, meaningful collaboration, and fun!” said Principal Kelly Morris.

“PLTW Launch provides us the platform to empower the minds of our students so that they can be agents for change.”

Kindergarten through fifth grade students participate in hands-on learning opportunities in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science.

PLTW’s research-supported approach empowers students to discover and explore interests, imagine and design solutions to real-world challenges, and become independent, confident problem solvers.

“Maple Hill is proud to be a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Launch School!” Morris added.

Just 404 elementary schools across the country received the special recognition.

Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is a non-profit organization that serves millions of PreK-12 students and teachers across the country.

To be eligible for the designation, Maple Hill had to offer at least two PLTW Launch modules at each grade level and have more than 75 percent of the student body participating during the 2018-19 school year.

The PLTW Distinguished School recognition honors schools committed to increasing student access, engagement, and achievement in their PLTW programs.
