Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on 60 Freeway in Hacienda Heights

Traffic in the area is affected as California Highway Patrol officials investigate what led to the crash.

Separate crashes about the same time involving motorcycles on two Los Angeles-area freeways left three people dead today.

The first crash occurred about 10:50 a.m. on the westbound Pomona (60) Freeway at Barford Avenue in Hacienda Heights. A motorcyclist in his 30s died in a collision with a truck, the California Highway Patrol reported. Three right lanes were blocked.

A second crash occurred about 11:05 a.m. on the transition from the northbound Long Beach (710) Freeway to the westbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway in the Alhambra area, the CHP reported.

A man and a woman -- both in their 20s -- were killed when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a vehicle, the CHP reported. Both died at the scene, and the transition road was blocked while an investigation was conducted.
