Mt SAC Loses Football Player, Girlfriend in Accident

The Mt. SAC community mourns the loss of its own, as it lost a member of the football team.

George Stewart, who along with his girlfriend Sabrina Castillo was killed in a vehicular accident last night (October 18) when a car travelling at a very high rate of speed, which lost control coming off the Eastbound 60 Freeway, 7th Street off ramp struck Steward’s white pickup truck, killing them both instantly. The driver and his passenger was treated for minor injuries.

Stewart, who prepped at Los Altos High School in Hacienda Heights was the team’s Long Snapper.

“This is a tragic loss for everyone who knew George,” said Mt. SAC Head Football Coach Bob Jastrab. “George was an outstanding individual who had a bright future ahead of him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his and Sabrina’s family and friends. We know that they are in a better place now, but they will truly be missed by the Mt. SAC Family.”

A moment of silence in honor of Stewart and Castillo will be given prior to Saturday’s game vs Riverside City College, and funeral arrangements are pending.
