Mayor Pro Tem Ron Everett, as well as council members Ling-Ling Chang and Steve Tye, hold the three seats up for election.
In June, the council voted to set the election. The council members also voted to request that the Board of Supervisors do a consolidated election, meaning the Los Angeles County Registrar/Recorder's Office would do all of the election planning and running, according to staff. That would include finding workers for polling places, mailing out sample ballots, and canvassing election results.
