Nourishing Young Minds: District Announces New Director Of Nutrition
The new director of nutrition at Walnut Valley Unified School District has a passion for nutrition, she says.

WALNUT, CA — The Walnut Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees has appointed Lisa Fabricant as director of nutrition services.
Fabricant brings over 17 years of management experience, most recently in the Sodexo K-12 Charter School District. She also served as director in the Fullerton School District for 11 years and Buena Park School District for two years.
Walnut Valley officials chose Fabricant for her stellar food service experience, drive, and team-oriented leadership.

Her professional background includes district-wide food service operations, marketing, and budgeting,
Fabricant will lead the District’s future efforts in nourishing Walnut Valley students, while developing innovative and nutritional menus, and helping school cafeterias continue to flourish.

“I’m excited to join the Walnut Valley team. This district has an excellent reputation in the community and among peers. I look forward in bringing my experience and passion for nutrition to improve the health of children first!” she said.
Fabricant took the helm as director on April 20 replacing Liz Brown-Smith who accepted a position in the Whittier Union High School District.
