Ontario Make-Up Artist Killed In Diamond Bar Collision
An 18-year-old make-up artist and former Ontario High School cheerleader was identified in a fatal Diamond Bar collision.

DIAMOND BAR, CA — An 18-year-old Ontario woman who died on her way to a concert in Diamond Bar was identified today. Authorities Tuesday identified Alexis Flores, 18, of Ontario who was fatally injured when the SUV in which she was riding crashed on the Pomona (60) Freeway in Diamond Bar. The crash occurred about 6:25 p.m. Sunday on the westbound 60 Freeway near the Brea Canyon Road onramp, said California Highway Patrol Officer Alex Rubio.
Flores died at Pomona Valley Hospital, according to the coroner's office and the CHP. Friends and family released a GoFundMe campaign for Flores, in hopes of reducing stress in a time of tragedy, according to the spokesperson, Jose Villareal.
"Alexis was one of the sweetest people you could ever meet," Villareal wrote. "She always made sure she made everyone in her life happy. She left a positive impact on everyone she ever met, with her joyful spirit and not only was she always a hard worker but was also committed to school and her goals in life."

Flores, according to friends and family, was known for the passion she had for make-up. She had just finished decorating her make-up room and making her make-up page on instagram to inspire others. She had recently graduated from Ontario High School, and was a pageant winner and former cheerleader, according to friends.
"Alexis was beautiful inside and out and unfortunately she lost her life at a very young age,"Villiareal continued. "Alexis had just graduated high school, turned 18 and had just started her second quarter at Mt. San Jacinto."

According to the CHP, Flores was riding in a 1998 Toyota 4Runner that was being driven in the No. 3 lane by 18-year-old Jessica Barksdale of Chino.
That's when another vehicle made a lane change in front of the Toyota, and Barksdale "was forced to take evasive action, in an effort to avoid (a) collision, and lost control of her vehicle," a CHP statement said.
The Toyota overturned, and the other vehicle kept going, the CHP reported. Barksdale suffered minor injuries. A second passenger in the Toyota suffered major injuries, the CHP reported
The crash temporarily shut down the Brea Canyon Road onramp and the transition road from the northbound Orange (57) Freeway to the westbound 60 Freeway.
Anyone with information on the crash was urged to call the CHP Baldwin Park Area office at (626) 338-1164.
