Pomona Learning Expo Opens a Universe of Exploration
The May 3 event will expose Pomona Unified students to arts, science and literacy.

The eighth annual Ross/McCracken Learning Expo will offer hands-on exploration of arts, science and literacy for more than 2,000 children from across the region. Features include a massive sky dome planetarium, an earth dome, live animals, a chance to build skeletons from owl pellets and demonstration of a cow-eye dissection. The free event includes performances by mariachi group Luz de la Luna, Aztec dance troupe Danzantes del Sol and the Lincoln Elementary folklorico dancers.

The expo is being staged by the Pomona Youth and Family Master Plan, a coalition of community groups and businesses dedicated to providing positive experiences to the community’s youth. The event is co-sponsored by Fairplex, Pomona Unified School District and the City of Pomona. Age-appropriate activities will be offered for preschoolers to adults. The event includes school projects created by Pomona and Diamond Bar students, an art display, information on college pathways and health screenings.
