A suspect was not found when a sheriff's Special Weapons Team entered the house in Bassett he ran into hours earlier, a sheriff's deputy said today.
A standoff began around 2:40 p.m. Thursday in the 13900 block of Lomitas Avenue, near Industry, said Deputy Peter Gomez of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.

"Our deputies were in the area looking for a suspect who ran into a home so we established a perimeter and called in a unit from the Special Enforcement Bureau," said sheriff's Sgt. Robert Boese of the Industry Station.
The barricade ended about 10:30 p.m. Thursday and the perimeter was broken down, said Deputy Crystal Hernandez of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.

INDUSTRY (CNS) - A standoff that began this afternoon in Bassett between a man believed to be armed and a sheriff's Special Weapons Team continued as midnight approached.
"It's still going on," said sheriff's Sgt. Robert Boese of the Industry Station.
"Our deputies were in the area looking for a suspect who ran into a home so we established a perimeter and called in a unit from the Special Enforcement Bureau."
The standoff began around 2:40 p.m. in the 13900 block of Lomitas Avenue, near Industry, said Deputy Peter Gomez of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.
A sheriff's Special Weapons Team from the Special Enforcement Bureau responded to the area, Gomez said.
Authorities do not believe there are other occupants in the residence, Gomez said.

INDUSTRY (CNS) - An armed man barricaded himself inside a home in Bassett this afternoon.
The standoff began around 2:40 p.m. in the 13900 block of Lomitas Avenue, near Industry, said Deputy Peter Gomez of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.
A sheriff's Special Weapons Team responded to the area, Gomez said.
Authorities do not believe there are other occupants in the residence as the standoff was continuing at 6:15 p.m., Gomez said.
