Stuck Truck Befuddles Pomona Police, Neighborhood

Why did this truck driver attempt to take his vehicle down a narrow strip of road, with a hairy three-way intersection? Road closures.

POMONA, CA — This truck wasn't able to make the sharp turn and was declared fully stuck, according to Pomona Police. Now, a large crane will be brought in to attempt to alleviate the situation that has stalled traffic in the area.

"Due to the length and weight of the vehicle, additional resources were required to move the trailer truck out of the intersection," Pomona police said. That could take as many as 48 hours.

Drivers were told to avoid the following areas until at least midday Thursday:

"We are working closely with CHP, CalTrans and the truck company to ensure the roadway can reopen as soon as possible, and thank you for understanding," they informed residents.

This closure directly affected families with students at the Ranch Hills Elementary School.

It was unclear as of this report if the driver would be ticketed for driving the extra long truck through that neighborhood.
