Teen Arrested in Suspicion of Making Bogus Bomb Threats at Mt. SAC, Walnut High

The threat was written on a piece of toilet paper and left in the boys' bathroom at Walnut High, triggering a lockdown at both schools.

WALNUT, CA - A teenager was arrested for allegedly making bomb threats directed at Walnut High School and Mount San Antonio College, authorities said Thursday.

Adrian Mendoza, 18, of West Covina, was arrested on Wednesday and booked on suspicion of making a false report of a bomb or explosive device, and he was released on $20,000.00 bail, the sheriff's department reported.

Mendoza is enrolled at both the high school and the college, which are about a mile apart from each other, the sheriff's department reported. Both campuses were evacuated after the threats were received on March 24.

The threat was written on a piece of toilet paper and left inside the boy's bathroom at Walnut High.

"The threat indicated a bomb was going to be detonated at Walnut High School and Mount San Antonio College," a sheriff's statement said. "An investigation was conducted at both locations but no explosive devices were located."
