The Windmill Celebrates a Milestone
Named in honor of the historic windmill that now stands at the Diamond Bar Towne Center, the Windmill magazine turns 50 in 2012.
After 50 years of sharing news, profiles, and events with residents and business owners in Diamond Bar, the Windmill is still going strong and celebrating a milestone.
"We are thrilled to have reached our fiftieth anniversary and cannot express enough our gratitude to the residents and advertisers for their support,” said Krystal Spindler, co-editor of the Windmill.
The not-for-profit, bi-monthly publication was established in 1962, and features profiles on local businesses, community announcements, event information, and more. Throughout 2012, the Windmill will have a special 50th anniversary page that spotlights area residents and businesses. What was once a black-and-white publication now prints in full color on glossy paper, and is sent to more than 19,000 homes and businesses across Diamond Bar. Issues can also be found online.

For the past two years, the Diamond Bar Community Foundation’s Windmill Committee has produced and published the magazine, with profits from advertisers going to support programs that benefit the community.
“Community is important to the city of Diamond Bar and with help from the Diamond Bar Community Foundation and our advertisers, we can give back,” Spindler said. “We look forward to 50 more years.”
