1. The Walnut City Council has a new member who isn't so new. The council voted Wednesday night 3-0-1 in favor of appointing former state Assemblyman Bob Pacheco to fill a vacant seat. Councilman Eric Ching abstained. Click here to read the story.

3. The Diamond Bar Public Library will host the summer reading final party at Sycamore Park. The event will include games, prizes, face painting and refreshments.
