Want to Create a Fruitful Backyard Garden from Scratch?

The Diamond Bar Library will host workshops to help residents start their own garden.

The Diamond Bar Library invites garden enthusiasts to learn the basics of gardening during a free two-series workshop.

“Gardening the Easy Way” is scheduled at 2 p.m. on Saturdays, Aug. 25 and Sept. 29 in the Diamond Bar City Hall - Windmill Community Room located at 21810 Copley Drive.

Local organic gardening expert Rishi Kumar will lead the hands on workshop, according to city officials. Participants will learn how to create a fruitful backyard garden from scratch – from designing a garden layout that best suits space availability and plant type to selecting the best plants and determining their specific soil and water needs, officials said.
