The Solano County coroner's office has identified a 50-year-old woman who died in a head-on collision with a big-rig Thursday morning.

The Solano County coroner's office has identified the woman who died in a head-on collision with a big-rig Thursday morning as Renee Cook, 50, of Rio Vista.
Cook was killed when her Ford Expedition collided with a big-rig on state Highway 12 southeast of Fairfield, California Highway Patrol Officer Robert Koehne said.

The Ford Expedition was traveling west on Highway 12 near Shiloh Road in unincorporated Solano County around 10:25 a.m.
The Ford drifted over the flexible, plastic lane delineators into the eastbound lane and collided with the big-rig, Koehne said.

The big-rig driver tried to avoid a collision by driving over the fog line on the right side of eastbound Highway 12, according to the CHP.
He suffered minor injuries in the collision.
Cook was pronounced dead at 10:40 a.m., the coroner's office said.
The big-rig jackknifed and blocked both eastbound lanes. The road remained closed until 2:12 p.m., Koehne said.

SOLANO COUNTY - A driver was killed when her Ford Expedition collided head-on with a big-rig on state Highway 12 southeast of Fairfield this morning, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The Ford Expedition was traveling west on Highway 12 near Shiloh Road in unincorporated Solano County around 10:25 a.m., CHP Officer Robert Koehne said.
According to the CHP, the Ford drifted over the flexible, plastic lane delineators into the eastbound lane and collided with the big-rig.
Authorities said the male big-rig driver tried to avoid a collision by driving over the fog line on the right side of eastbound Highway 12.
The action caused the big-rig to jackknife, blocking both eastbound lanes.
The road remained closed until shortly after 2 p.m., Koehne said.

SOLANO COUNTY - One person is dead after a big-rig reportedly collided with a black Ford Expedition Thursday morning on eastbound state Highway 12 in unincorporated Solano County, California Highway Patrol officials said.
The collision was first reported at 10:25 a.m. on eastbound Highway 12 near Shiloh Road.
Both directions of the highway were blocked as of shortly after 11 a.m. as a result of the crash.
