10-Year-Old Bicyclist Injured In Collision With Vehicle In Fairfield

The accident happened this morning in a crosswalk, police said.

A 10-year-old child on a bicycle suffered minor injuries in a collision with a vehicle in Fairfield this morning, a police sergeant said.

Police responded to the collision in a crosswalk at Oakbrook Drive and Lopes Road at 7:37 a.m., Fairfield police Sgt. Sam Rowland said.

The juvenile was taken to a hospital as a precaution, Rowland said. “We don’t expect this to be anything egregious,” he said.

The driver of the vehicle stopped and cooperated with the police investigation, Rowland said.
