Breaking: The Vacaville Fire Protection District says a helicopter crew was required to rescue one of the teen girls.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- Three teens were rescued Tuesday afternoon after their kayaks tipped over on Putah Creek, Vacaville Fire Protection District Howard Wood said.

Two of the teens were 17-year-old girls and the other teen was 18 years old, Wood said. They were kayaking about one-quarter to a half-mile downstream from the Canyon Creek Resort in Winters around 2:25 p.m. when the incident occurred, Wood said.

Two teens swam to the state Highway 128 side of the creek in Yolo County and the other teen was trapped in the brush on the Solano County side of the creek, Wood said.
