Agents Serve Warrant, Seize Items From Talk N Win In Fairfield

Gaming officials and police today seized items from the Talk N Win business in Fairfield, calling the operation illegal and a magnet for other crimes in the area.
Detectives from the Fairfield Police Department and agents from the California Department of Justice Bureau of Gaming Control served a search warrant at 9:30 a.m. to the sweepstakes cafe in Fairfield.
“This particular operation uses sweepstakes gambling software that creates interactive gambling-themed games that the company represents as a lawful promotional sweepstakes for play, but constitutes illegal gambling under state law, “ Fairfield police said. “This illegal operation has been a magnet for other crimes, and generally targets vulnerable low-income clientele.”

Agents seized evidence in the allegedly illegal gambling operation, and is referring the case to the Solano County District Attorney’s Office, police said.
