• Vacaville volunteers replace neighbors' torn American flags on Flag Day (cbsnews.com) — Dixon hosted a respectful flag retirement ceremony where worn American flags were honorably disposed of, complementing a larger Flag Day effort led by Vacaville veterans to replace tattered flags with new ones. Volunteers, including local veterans and Cub Scouts, swapped out hundreds of flags and encouraged ongoing donations at the Vacaville Veterans Hall. The project aimed to refresh flags ahead of July Fourth and America’s 250th anniversary.    

• Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management's 2026 Clean Air Art Contest winners announced (dailydemocrat.com) — Dixon is part of the Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District area that just honored 12 student winners of its 2026 “Heroes for Clean Air” art contest. Kids from schools in Davis, Vacaville, West Sacramento and Winters were recognized, with their artwork headed for stickers and giveaways at community events. Residents can view all winning pieces online and watch for the art at future outreach booths.
