• Volunteers scrub, honor sacrifices at Dixon national cemetery (timesheraldonline.com) — Volunteers gathered at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon to scrub headstones and honor veterans as part of a nationwide 9/11 Day of Service. Residents, veterans groups, and organizations from around the region joined in, many with personal ties to those buried there, turning routine cleaning into a heartfelt tribute to sacrifice and remembrance.
   

• One person dies in Vacaville house fire (cbsnews.com) — Firefighters from Dixon joined other agencies battling a deadly house fire near Vacaville that also sparked a small vegetation blaze and brief evacuations. Crews contained the fire to about a half-acre, but one person was later found dead inside the home as investigators continue to examine the cause.
