• COURT WATCH: Yolo Judge Denies Motions to Dismiss Failure-to-Register Charge, Halt Competency Restoration (davisvanguard.org) — A Yolo County judge has refused to dismiss a felony failure-to-register charge and halt competency restoration proceedings for an unhoused man living in Dixon who is required to register as a sex offender. Defense attorneys argued the registration rules are unreasonable for people without stable housing and that treatment, not restoration, is appropriate, but the judge instead referred him to state health agencies and set another hearing for Oct. 30.
