The 1st Annual West Coast Derby Championship and Hot Rod Expo came to Dixon last weekend, September 21 and 22. Nearly an inch of unseasonal rain put a damper on things on Saturday, but Sunday dawned with perfect weather for an afternoon of fender-banging fun. Cars and trucks from as far away as Modesto provided entertainment for a good-sized crowd.

First-place winner was Lewie Bombower with a $10,000 purse. Lower-placed winners won $2,000, $1,500, $1,000, $800, and so on.
Dixon's annual May Fair also provides a demolition derby.
