Body Found in Vacaville Irrigation Canal

VACAVILLE, CA — Employees of the Solano Irrigation District found a body in an irrigation canal in northern Vacaville this morning, a city spokesman said.

Vacaville police were notified sometime before noon about the discovery in the canal in the area of Vaca Valley Parkway and Eubanks Drive.

Solano County coroner's officials were removing the body as of around 2:15 p.m., city spokesman Mark Mazzaferro said.

The canal is on federally owned land and the FBI, Solano County Sheriff's Office and Vacaville Police responded to the discovery, Mazzaferro said.
